Hello there…..I have been a bit lazy lately; I just want spring/summer to come… I am so tired of the cold weather and it’s just taking forever to go away, but what can I do….? Anyway, all Glory and Thanks to God for his beautiful work….Enough said I guess…sigh…..

Just finished one of simplicity’s latest skirt patterns 2451…. This is a cute skirt pattern and I plan on making one more in another fabric, it has a little detail to it,  front and back yoke and a little buttoned tab which makes it stand out…

Here goes the review

With simplicity 2554 top
A little detail

Fabric: Lightweight denim from Fabricland .This has been in my stash for almost a year

Pattern Description: Misses skirts in two lengths

Pattern Sizing: 12-20… I cut size 14 in the waist and graded  up to about 17 (btw 16 & 18) in the hip.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes ……..

Were the instructions easy to follow: Super duper easy…

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: As always…
(1) I made 1″ wedge on the back pattern
(2) I folded 0.5″ in the front
(3) I put an invisible zipper
(4) I (machine) topstitched the front and back separately before I joined them together on the sides..

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the style, the front and back yoke and the buttoned tab….nothing to dislike…

Would you recommend it to others? Absolutely….. Go for it ….lol…

Conclusion: Nice style and I am definately making at least one more…..

Enjoy the rest of the week!!!!!!!

PS: Answer to Homejewel question
Thanks everyone for all your comments… The 1″ wedge is due to my bum, I have high hip..for example my waist is 34″ and my hip (8″ from my waist to my hip) is 44.5″ so I usually do the 1″ wedge so that the skirt hem will not jump in the back.. also the 0.5″ in the front is to balance out the wegde in the back. I put the wedge at about 8″ from my waist in the back and fold out 0.5″ at about the same length in the front. I can send you some pictures of how I made the wedge if you send me your email… Ihope this helps..Let me know if you have any other question…. Here is a link to one of the pants I made using the method….Take care
