Just finished one of simplicity’s latest skirt patterns 2451…. This is a cute skirt pattern and I plan on making one more in another fabric, it has a little detail to it, front and back yoke and a little buttoned tab which makes it stand out…
Here goes the review
Fabric: Lightweight denim from Fabricland .This has been in my stash for almost a year
Pattern Description: Misses skirts in two lengths
Pattern Sizing: 12-20… I cut size 14 in the waist and graded up to about 17 (btw 16 & 18) in the hip.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes ……..
Were the instructions easy to follow: Super duper easy…
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: As always…
(1) I made 1″ wedge on the back pattern
(2) I folded 0.5″ in the front
(3) I put an invisible zipper
(4) I (machine) topstitched the front and back separately before I joined them together on the sides..
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the style, the front and back yoke and the buttoned tab….nothing to dislike…
Would you recommend it to others? Absolutely….. Go for it ….lol…
Conclusion: Nice style and I am definately making at least one more…..
I love your skirt. I recently picked up this pattern and am chomping at the bit to try it. Can you tell me about the revisions – what does it mean 1-in wedge in back and 1/2-in fold in front? What are you folding? I know I'm going to have to do some modifications between waist and hips. I haven't made a decent skirt with zipper that fits, so I'm treading on new territory.
Very nice!!! Love the tabs on the front, a great detail. I'll have to look this pattern over.
That is a totally cute skirt! Hang in there–summer will be here and we'll be complaining of the heat!
I truly love that skirt. You look great in it!!! I also like the pink top on you.
All right now, I really like that!
Cute skirt!
You skirt looks fantastic! I love the topstitching, and the shape is great.
This skirt looks wonderful on you,as does your top. I love the details and style, and I just added the pattern to my "I want" list. Have a great week end :)
Your skirt is the second one I have seen made up from this pattern. Like Ann, I have got to add this to my pattern list. I think the skirt is very flattering, especially with the curved yoke. Topstitching is a nice touch. Looks great. Thanks for sharing the information about the 1 inch wedge.
Love your skirt! It looks great on you!!!
Hi, I thought I would post my answer here to your question on blog, ref the red dress. I bought my Neue Mode patterns from the Sewing Patterns.com site. You can download the pattern or have it sent by mail. I had mine mailed and downloaded the instructions. I just preferred to have the pattern whole instead of having to piece it :)
Enjoy these patterns they are actually very nice to sew with :)
